I am honored to work with this incredible group of educators at Henry. We have high expectations for students and believe that every child is capable of greatness. We focus on quality instruction and continually improve through our use of Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Henry has been recognized for the past five years as a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School, an award for which we take great pride.

At Henry, we are a Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH).  CKH focuses on building strong relationships with all our students and showing them that we care. You can read more about CKH on our website. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors, our teachers, students, and parents, are excited to be here! With this enthusiasm, we will meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting you. Please stop by and introduce yourself.

With Patriot Pride,

Ginger Ernst, Principal

Welcome to Patrick Henry Elementary School!  I am thrilled to begin my eighth year as principal at Henry. I have been a dedicated educator for 32 years and have worked with students from pre-K through high school. I have served as a Teacher, Counselor, ELL Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal. I live in the beautiful Black Forest with my husband, Steve.  We have three amazing adult children, Matthew (29), Kenzie (27), and Andy (23). We have a great time as a family hiking, laughing, and playing with our Shi Tzu – Buster Posey and our Golden Doodle - Georgie Kittle! I am now also a "Gigi" to my grandson, Pax, and granddaughter, Raynie, who are 5 and 4 years old. They light up my life and keep me on my toes!

I am honored to begin my first year as Assistant Principal at Henry, a place I have proudly called home for the past 16 years. My journey here began as a classroom teacher for several years, followed by serving as Henry’s Teaching and Learning Coach. Throughout my time at Henry, I have cherished being part of such a supportive and inspiring school community.

As a native of Colorado Springs and a proud graduate of District 11 schools—from elementary through high school—this role is especially meaningful to me. I’m excited to continue building strong relationships with our students, staff, and families, and to help create a school environment where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
