Welcome to Patrick Henry Elementary School! I am so excited about beginning my seventh year as principal at Henry. I have been a dedicated educator for 31 years and have worked with students from pre-K through high school. I have served as a Teacher, Counselor, ELL Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal. I live in the beautiful Black Forest with my husband, Steve. We have three amazing adult children, Matthew (28), Kenzie (26), and Andy (22). We have a great time as a family hiking, laughing, and playing with our Shi Tzu – Buster Posey and our Golden Doodle - Georgie Kittle! I am now also a "Gigi" to my grandson, Pax, and granddaughter, Raynie who are 4 and 3 months old. They light up my life and keep me on my toes!
I am honored to work with this incredible group of educators at Henry. We have high expectations for students and believe that every child is capable of greatness. We focus on quality instruction and continually improve through our use of Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s). Henry has been recognized by the Colorado Department of Education as a Center of Excellence. We have also been recognized as a Model Professional Learning Community site, one of only three in Colorado and the only elementary school in the state to achieve that designation. In addition, we received the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. We continually strive to improve and make our school the best experience for our Patriots. For the past two years, Henry has been recognized as Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School, an award we are proud of!
At Henry, we are a Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH). CKH focuses on how we can build strong relationships with all of our students and show them that we care. You can read more about CKH on our website and see videos of what this program means to our students, staff, and parents.
As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors, our teachers, students, and parents are excited to be here! With this enthusiasm, we will meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.
My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting you. Please stop by and introduce yourself.
With Patriot Pride,
Ginger Ernst, Principal
